Players and officials of the NPFL side, Lobi Stars, narrowly escaped death on Monday after their team bus was engulfed by fire.
Lobi had defeated Kwara United in an NPFL MatchDay 22 fixture on Sunday to keep up the chase for the league title.
The Makurdi-based side were returning from their away trip in Ilorin, Kwara State, when the bus which was conveying them went up in flames five kilometres from their base.
There were no casualties from the inferno, however, some of the players and officials sustained injuries while trying to escape through the window.
The club is yet to put out an official statement about the unfortunate incident, but fans of the club and football lovers have been sending their support to the team.
This is not the first time Nigerian clubs are facing a dangerous situation while travelling for away games, with the likes of Giwa FC, Kano Pillars attacked by robbers during road trips.
