Labour issues Bauchi 21-days ultimatum over N30,000 minimum wage

Yusuf Dotun

The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has given the Bauchi State Government a 21-day ultimatum to resume talks and implement the new N30,000 minimum wage in the state.

The State NLC Chairman, Danjuma Kirfi, said the ultimatum was a part of the resolutions reached at the end of the joint state executive council meeting at the union’s secretariat in Bauchi.

Danjuma said members can see absence of commitment on the part of government representatives towards subsequent resolutions and assurance of the implementation of the new minimum wage in the state.

The organised labour called on the government to restore negotiations.

The leadership organization will not guarantee the industrial work progress in the state without a quick conclusion to the negotiations.

The government is hereby given 21 days to conclude negotiations on the new national minimum wage in the state.
