Bruno Fernandes has made history by becoming the first Manchester United player to win the Premier League Player of the Month in his debut month since Anthony Martial in September 2015.

The Portuguese midfielder was named the English top-flight best player for the month of February on Monday.

Fernandes has been in magnificent form for United since his arrival from Sporting Lisbon in January, scoring three goals and assisting a further four so far.

He was voted as United and the PFA player of the month last week and has now added the EA Sports Player of the Month to his list of individual accolades.

The 25-year-old has become a fan favourite in little time and already has a song dedicated to him from United fans.

Fernandes was presented with his award at United's training ground in Carrington where he expressed his delight at receiving the prize.

“Since I was a kid, it was a dream to play for Man United and to be there at Old Trafford is the biggest dream of my career," Fernandes told Premier League’s official website:

“When you come to a new club, you always want to score, and the first goal is special. It doesn’t matter how the goal is scored, but important is the goal’s worth.

“I’m happy with my start, but from now on, I need to give more, to be better.”
