Brushing of the teeth is a normal thing for every sane human, but many people have still not mastered the art of brushing their teeth.

In this article, we will look at typical mistakes we all make when brushing our teeth.

1. Wrong Angle

Brushing your teeth once or twice is not enough, you need to get the angle to brush right.

To increase cleaning efficiency, the angle of the gum line brushed should be 45 degrees.

Also brush vertically (up and down) to remove food particles between your teeth. Most people brush horizontally most times and this can lead to faster tooth loss and less effective brushing.

2. Brushing Time

The ideal time for brushing your teeth is between 3 to 5 minutes.

Toothpaste contains a plasticizer that acts on remnants in the mouth for at least three minutes.

The nutrients of the teeth are not softened enough for 3 minutes, and if you clean them in a shorter time, they cannot be effectively removed with a toothbrush.

3. Incompatible Brush

The brush you use should be consistent and the bristles should be on the same level. Otherwise, the gums and teeth may be damaged. Hard, medium, soft, very soft - this is another consistency of the brush, you should ask your dentist to recommend the appropriate consistency.

4. Using The Same Brush For Several Months

Your toothbrush is not your best friend, so do not be afraid to dispose it and purchase a new one.

It is advisable to change your toothbrush every three to four months. For more effective mouth cleaning, change your brush often because if the bristles fall out and you are still using it, it is likely not going to do a proper job.

5. Not Brushing The Tongue

The tongue is soft and coarse, which makes it a good habitat for bacteria. Neglecting it when brushing the teeth is bad because it is actually one of the most important aspects of maintaining oral hygiene.

You can buy a commercially available tongue cleaner or clean your tongue gently with your toothbrush.
