The Working Committee of the Oyo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced the suspension of all political activities, as part of the party’s measure of curtailing the widespread of the Coronavirus in the state.
This was made known by the chairman of the party, Mr Akin Oke, after a meeting held to review the state of the nation as regards to the (COVID-19) pandemic.
According to the Publicity Secretary, Dr AbdulAzeez Olatunde, in a statement, on Tuesday, all political activities at the state, local government and ward level throughout the state are therefore suspended.
The party further stated that future developments as regards the COVID-19 would determine its decision over the suspension which it stated would be looked into after two weeks.
Meanwhile, the party emphasized that all its offices across the state remain shut and all manners of meetings suspended for the two weeks. It was added that the party will resume its regular political activities in the state when the COVID-19 scourge is contained within the two weeks.
