A member of the Imo State House of Assembly, Mr Obinna Okwara, who is representing Nkwerre State Constituency was yesterday ordered to exit the chambers by the speaker of the House, Collins Chiji, after he suddenly started coughing and sneezing during the plenary session.

It was gathered that as Mr Okwara began to sneeze, it led to pandemonium as his colleagues who sat close to him started shifting away from him and others reaching for their nose masks and handkerchiefs and wore them.

He was ordered out of plenary, by the Speaker of the House who advised him to check himself properly.

Speaker Chiji further alleged that Okwara may have been exposed to COVID-19 (Coronavirus) during his visit to London, adding that he may have had close contact with one of the confirmed cases in the United Kingdom, where the virus is spreading faster.

He was further advised to observe strict self-isolation following his recent return from the United Kingdom.

However, the lawmaker was seen walking into his office and never came back to the plenary afterwards.
