Nigerian music star, Burna Boy, has promised not to personally post on his Twitter handle again after he was heavily criticised for posts he made this week.

In a series of tweets, the self-acclaimed African giant shared his opinion on a range of topics while responding to fans who asked him questions.

One of such tweets was aimed at former Mavin Records singer, Reekado Banks, who was disgraced after he proposed a music challenge with the Grammy awards nominee.

Burna Boy blatantly told Reekado he wasn't going to get on a challenge with him because he wasn’t on his level.

The tweet went viral and provoked serious reactions from Nigerians on Twitter who felt the singer was just being cocky and rude. But Burna Boy has described it as his own way of being real.

Burna Boy has always prided himself as a strong personality but it appears the 'dragging' on Twitter has eventually got to him, causing him to quit the app.

"This is my Last personal tweet Ever. I Imma just leave this app cuz apparently I’m too real for it. Everyone, please use this COV-19 times to really find out what your true purpose in this world is, train your mind and body to the fullest, get Closer to the Most high n ur Family," the music star wrote.

However, fans are already warning that he won't be able to stay off the app. Some have claimed that he would go back on his word, just as he did previously with other matters.

This is not the first time Burna Boy has made such a threat and didn't follow through. Last year, he announced that he was leaving all his social media platforms to his social media manager, but he ended up returning to them a few months later.

Another time, he came out to say streaming numbers don't matter but a few weeks later he came online to celebrate when he pulled off huge numbers.
