Want to stay fit during the lockdown? Find out how!
Staying fit during the lockdown when you are shut indoors for days on end is certainly no walk in the park. But who says it is impossible? Here are five ways to stay fit during the lockdown.
The best way to stay fit and healthy is to exercise. You do not have to do anything elaborate. It could be something as simple as a couple of lunges, squats or press-ups when you wake in the morning. It could also be something like jogging around the house.
2. Eat a balanced diet
As cliche as this sounds, there is nothing as helpful as eating a healthy, balanced diet. Eat fruits, vegetables, and any other nutrient-rich foods that you can lay your hands on. Be intentional about what you eat. Do not take this lockdown as an excuse to binge on junk food or to take a break from healthy eating.
3. Get enough sleep
When you get adequate sleep, your body conserves energy, repairs and builds up the muscles you worked while exercising. Exercise and a balanced diet can only do so much without adequate rest. Besides, if you are an adult, you need at least 8 hours of sleep each night for your body to function properly.
4. Stick to a routine
If you do not have a healthy routine, now is the time to get one. You can make plans to wake up at least 10 or 15 minutes earlier than your usual time to exercise. You can also set aside a particular time during the day to take a nap or to take a break from work. Just start a routine that you can follow.
5. Never give up
If looking and feeling as fit as you would like seems to be taking longer than expected, do not despair. Give it time. Our bodies function differently. So, what works quickly for A might time take a little longer for B. Continue with your plan, and with time, you will see the changes you seek.
