Nigeria has recorded 338 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number to 5,959.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), on its official Twitter handle, reported these figures late last night.
According to the report, the figures include 182 deaths while 1,594 have recovered and have been discharged.
The new cases were recorded in 18 states, with Lagos and Kano having the most cases with 177 and 64 respectively.
The federal government had enforced a two-week lockdown in March, which was extended by another two weeks, in an effort to contain the spread of the disease.
However, the lockdown was eased on Monday, May 4, for economic reasons, and the number of coronavirus cases in the country continues to spike.
