Nigeria has recorded 284 new confirmed COVID-19 cases in 13 states, bringing the total number of cases to 6,677.
According to a recent update by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), the states include Lagos (199), Rivers (26), Oyo (19), FCT (8), Borno (8), Plateau (7), Jigawa (6), Kano (5), Abia (2), Ekiti (1), Delta (1), Kwara (1) and Taraba (1).
The country has recorded a total number of 200 deaths while 1,840 have been discharged.
Across the globe, the number of people infected with the virus stands at 5 million, with 328,000 deaths while 1.9 million have recovered.
The Federal Government of Nigeria, on March 30, 2020, enforced a 14-day lockdown in Lagos, neighbouring Ogun State, and the FCT in a bid to contain the spread of the disease.
The lockdown was extended by another 14 days before it was partially lifted on May 4.
