COVID-19 Case Update: 12,233 Cases Nationwide, 5,729 Recorded In Lagos

Exactly 100 days since the index case was confirmed in Lagos, Nigeria has recorded a total number of 12,233 COVID-19 cases, with 342 deaths and 3,826 people now discharged.

According to the official figures recently published by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), 389 new cases were recorded in 23 states, with Lagos taking the lead at 66, followed by FCT and Delta State at 50 and 32 respectively.

Other states included Oyo (31), Borno (26), Rivers (24), Edo (23), Ebonyi (23), Anambra (17), Gombe (17), Nasarawa (14), Imo (12), Kano (12), Sokoto (12), Jigawa (8), Ogun (7), Bauchi (5), Kebbi (2), Kaduna (2), Katsina (2), Ondo (2), Abia (1) and Niger (1).

The total number of cases recorded in Lagos stands at 5,729, making it the state with the highest number of cases in the country so far.

Cross River remains the only virus-free state in Nigeria, which is the third most impacted country in Africa.
