"I can't breathe!" were the last words of 46-year-old George Floyd, a black man who was killed in Minneapolis, USA, by a white police officer, Derek Chauvin.

The officer pinned Floyd to the ground with his knee on his neck for close to nine minutes, leaving the truck driver and restaurant security guard gasping for air, with his hands in cuffs behind him as he begged for mercy.

Floyd's death sparked worldwide protests, which have continued till date. Here are some of the most touching moments from the street protests so far. Check on them.

1. Protesters imitate Floyd's last moments

Protesters in Columbus, Ohio, and some other states in the US imitated the last moments of Big Floyd or Gentle Giant, as the father of six-year-old Gianna was often called. Lying prostrate on the ground, with their hands crossed behind them, the protesters chanted Floyd's last words, "I can't breathe!" These might have been the final words of a dying man but they continue to live on.

2. Police officers kneel with protesters

On more than one occasion, police officers knelt and marched in solidarity with protesters. It is hard not to be touched by something like this, especially when the Los Angeles Police Department commander set an example for other officers.

3. A proposal and a wedding

A proposal and a wedding! Right in the middle of a protest, too. Who would have thought? After watching his girlfriend agitate for justice with so much passion, a protester decided it was time to pop the question, there and then, in the midst of hundreds of protesters. Days later, an engaged couple who had to postpone their wedding due to the COVID-19 pandemic, took the big step during the protest.

4. John Boyega's speech

British Nigerian actor John Boyega's speech at a Black Lives Matter protest in London got everyone talking. The actor could not stop the tears while giving a fervent speech that would be remembered for a long time as one which left many teary-eyed. Actress Keke Palmer and actor Michael B Jordan's more recent speeches at different #BLM protests also fetched similar reactions from fans.

5. The 'Lean on me' concert

In the last few days, we have seen some tear-jerking concerts during the protests, some of which were held during candle-light vigils. And the concert where protesters sang along to Bill Withers' 'Lean on me' stood out to us. What could be more touching than people uniting in one voice - literally? This is as emotional as protests get.
