Nigeria has recorded a total of 19,808 confirmed COVID-19 cases, with 506 deaths and 6,718 recoveries.
According to the official figures published by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) late last night, 661 new cases were recorded in 14 states, including Lagos (230), Rivers (127), Delta (83), FCT (60), Oyo (51), Edo (31), Bayelsa (27), Kaduna (25), Plateau (13), Ondo (6), Nasarawa (3), Ekiti (2), Kano (2) and Borno (1).
With 8,407 cases, Lagos is the most impacted state in the country, followed by the FCT and Kano with 1,549 and 1,184 cases respectively.
The states with the lowest number of cases include Ekiti (39), Taraba (18) and Kogi (3).
Worldwide, 8.8 million people have been infected with the novel coronavirus, 4.37 million have recovered and 465,000 deaths have been recorded.
