COVID-19 Case Update: 25,133 Cases, FG Lifts Ban On Interstate Travel

The NCDC reports that the country has recorded 566 new confirmed COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number of cases to 25,133, with 573 deaths while 9,402 have been discharged.

According to the report, the new cases were recorded in 20 states, including Lagos (166), Oyo (66), Delta (53), Ebonyi (43), Plateau (34), Ondo (32), FCT (26), Ogun (25), Edo (24), Imo (15), Bayelsa (13), Benue (12), Gombe (11), Kano (11), Kaduna (11), Osun (8), Nasarawa (7), Borno (5), Katsina (2) and Anambra (2).

With 10,310 cases, Lagos remains the most impacted state in the country, followed by the FCT and Oyo with 1,818 and 1,372 cases respectively.

President Buhari, on Monday, June 29, announced the lifting of the ban on interstate travel. He also approved the reopening of schools for students of graduating classes, including primary 6, Junior Secondary School 3 and Senior Secondary School 3, after meeting with the Presidential Task Force (PTF) on COVID-19, led by Boss Mustapha.
