Kanye West plans to debut his first collection with adidas during New York Fashion Week, on Feb 12.
The collaboration comes after a public breakup with West and Nike, who he previously had a sneaker deal with. As the first non-athlete to work with Nike, West switched teams after business and creative differences.
Earlier this week, adidas announced the debut of their new phone application Confirmed that would allow New Yorkers to reserve limited edition shoes at locations throughout the city. “We are addressing a real market need,” Adidas vice president of brand activation Simon Atkins said in a release. “Until now, the industry standard for reserving hype sneakers has been social media or lottery-based systems, which often result in long lines and unclaimed reservations.”
It was also noted that this app would coincide with the release of West’s collection.
So, it’s looking like any New Yorker who wants to get their hands on Yeezy x adidas merchandise will be able to do so in the next week or so.
