Sierra Leonean-Nigerian singer, visual artist, fashion designer and songwriter Hadiza Blell aka Di’Ja was born to a Sierra Leonean and a mother from Northern Nigeria.
She is currently signed to Mavin Records. The singer launched her musical career in 2008 and in 2009, she released her first single “Rock Steady” which was nominated for Best Urban/R&B Single at the 2009 Canadian Radio Music Awards, she also won the Best New Artist award at the 2008 Beat Music Awards.
In 2009, she was nominated for the Most Promising Act to Watch at the upcoming Nigeria Entertainment Awards, 2014.
On February 14, 2015, Don Jazzy announced the addition of Di’Ja to Mavin Records which gave rise to her being featured on “Dorobucci” alongside label mates Don Jazzy, Dr SID, Tiwa Savage, D’Prince, Korede Bello and Reekado Banks on May 2014. “Dorobucci” has received over 12 million downloads since its release.
In 2010, Di’ja was one of the opening acts for Akon performance at Sierra Leone’s 49th Independence anniversary.
Di’Ja has a double degree in Biology and Psychology.
