If you didn’t like cucumbers before, I bet now you will because apart from it being a great vegetable with health benefits, it serves many other amazing purposes. Here are a few things you probably didn’t know cucumbers could do.

A shoe shiner: Cut cucumber slices and rub them over your shoes. The chemicals from it would make your shoes shine, serve as a water repellent and keep them shining even when wet.

Fat wrinkle busting:  The photochemical in cucumbers makes the collagen in your skin tighten. You can also rub a cucumber on a problematic spot of cellulite or some wrinkles and it will lessen the visibility of the problem spots.

Bad Breath Be Gone: Hold a slice of cucumber on the roof of your mouth with your tongue for 30 seconds. The photochemical kills the bacteria that causes bad breath.

Magic eraser: Use the outside of  a cucumber to clean of pen ink and crayon marks.

Pest free garden: Place a small container with 3 slices of cucumbers in your garden. The chemicals in the cucumber have a reaction that pests hate. You won’t smell it, but it will drive them from your garden. Replace them periodically.

As a lubricant: Rub a slice of cucumber along squeaky hinges and see it work like magic.

To clean sink and stainless steel: Rub the slice on the stained part then polish with a cloth. It restores and gives it shine.
