Creditors … the sign “No Credit Today, Come Today” was indeed made for them. This group of shoppers are dreaded by traders because getting their money back could take a longer period than desired. Traders many times lose their money when some don’t return to pay. However, some creditors gain the trust of traders and get a nod of approval to go with the goods and pay later -“Na my customer, give am. E go pay money”

Bargainers… Many Nigerian mothers are bargainers.  There are two sets of bargainers, those that bargain till the trader can’t help but ask them to “bring money”, and the others that incur unprintable curses from the traders as they walk away without purchasing the goods.

Hold it down… These ones never take the goods home that day, they pick what they want, offer some amount from the total cost so the traders can hold the items down for them till they bring the balance. Sometimes traders sell the items to another customer if they stay too long before coming back for it though they made it clear “No sell my cloth o!”.
