Birthday Shout! Kalu Ikeagwu, Damilola Adegbite

We celebrate Nollywood stars Kalu Ikeagwu and Damilola Adegbite this day May 18

Kalu Ikeagwu

This popular Nollywood actor was born in England but relocated to Nigeria at the age of 9. He had his primary education in England and Zambia before proceeding to University of Nigeria to get a degree in English from the university of Nigeria, Nsukka.

Kalu Ikeagwu’s first appearance on screen was on the TV series ‘Domino’ in 2005.  His first stage performance was in “Put Out The Houselights” by Esiaba Ironsi.  On television, he has starred in many popular series including Domino, 168 and Doctors’ Quarters (MNet Production ). He is also known for his role as “Alahji Abubakar” aka Masters in the Nigerian hit TV series Tinsel, 30 Days, Domino, Accident, Broken, Damage, Two Brides and a Baby and a host of other movies.

He has also earned a number of nominations for his work in the industry including; Best Supporting actor – 2014 Best of Nollywood Awards (nominated), Best Actor (African Collaboration) – 2012 Ghana Movie Awards (nominated), Best Actor – 2013 Golden Icons Academy Movie Awards (nominated) and a host of others.

Damilola Adegbite

Nigerian actress Damilola is known her role as Thelema Duke in the soap opera ‘Tinsel’, and Kemi Williams in the movie Flower Girl.

She was born in Surulere, Lagos State. She attended Queen’s College, Yaba, Lagos and studied business administration at Bowen University in Iwo, Osun State.

Damilola Adegbite made her acting debut in Tinsel, she has also featured in 6 Hours to Christmas (2010),
Before 30 and others.

In August 2014, Adegbite got engaged to Chris Attoh, a fellow actor she met on set of the soap opera Tinsel. In September 2014, the couple welcomed a baby boy named Brian. Adegbite and Attoh privately got married in Accra, Ghana on 14 February 2015.

She won Best Actress in a TV Series at the 2011 Nigeria Entertainment Awards.

The actress turns 31 today!
