We celebrate Popular Yoruba actress Toyin Aimakhu this day September 5
Filmmaker, director and producer Toyin Aimakhu was born September 5, 1984. She is a graduate of Philosophy from Olabisi Onabanjo University and started her career in 2003.
The actress was born in Auchi, a town in Edo State in southern Nigeria but spent her early life in Ibadan. She obtained a Higher National Diploma certificate in marketing from Ibadan polytechnic same class with Dibie, C.B.N aka x7 before she proceeded to Olabisi Onabanjo University, where she received a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in philosophy.
She has produced, directed and featured in several Nigerian films, such as Alakada, Alani Baba Labake and Ebimi ni to mention but a few.
She was nominated for Best Supporting Actress in a Yoruba film titled Ebimi ni at the 2013 Best of Nollywood Awards. She also picked up the ‘Best Actress’ and ‘Best Movie’ award at BEN TV in 2014.
Toyin got married to Adeniyi Johnson July 8, 2013 however in January 2015 following infidelity allegations the union came to an end.
Toyin turns 32.
