Happenings

By Kikelomo Onigbanjo

Hello from the other side…

It’s Friday!!!

#LagosBusChronicles 61

I wonder why transport workers get drunk as early as 7:00am in the morning…

#LagosBusChronicles 61

Our conductor today was dead drunk

#LagosBusChronicles 61

And his breath was stinking

#LagosBusChronicles 61

Naturally, he was misbehaving and picking on people inside the bus

#LagosBusChronicles 61

Luckily (or unluckily) for him, a prim and proper middle aged gentleman sat very close to him, he looked like a no-nonsense man

#LagosBusChronicles 61

Our conductor kept on constituting a nuisance with his bad breath, but the man was more than ready for him

#LagosBusChronicles 61

First, the man chastised him like a little boy for drinking so early in the morning like an irresponsible man

#LagosBusChronicles 61

Then he berated him for picking on members of the bus who just want to get to work on time

#LagosBusChronicles 61

All this while he was talking, everybody listened in rapt attention and the bus was silent

#LagosBusChronicles 61

He told the conductor to apologise to all the members of the bus or he was going to get him beaten up and arrested

#LagosBusChronicles 61

His voice carried a lot of authority, so much that the conductor apologised immediately and he composed himself

In my mind I was like

It’s good for these people to have someone else they fear besides the police…

Have a restful weekend!
