Yvonne Williams

A trip down memory lane this day March 16;

1947 – Foremost Nigerian journalist, editor and founder of Newswatch magazine, Dele Giwa was born.

1998 – Rwanda began mass trials for 1994 genocide with 125,000 suspects for 500,000 murders.

2011 – Hip-Hop Star Nate Dogg Dies;  Forty-one year old hip-hop and R&B star, Nathaniel Hale, also known as Nate Dogg, died after complications from two strokes. Nate Dogg had begun his career in the early 1990s and had collaborated with such artists as Snoop Dogg, Eminem, and Warren G.

No Selfies Day – Okay so most of us might not like the sound of this because understandably we’ve sort of become addicted to taking the perfect selfie and posting it for the world to see; to of course get loads of approval… I mean (a perfect selfie without the “oohs and ahhs”- is that one a selfie??) Just kidding. But seriously, carving perfection and approval comes with being addicted to selfies – all that editing and stuff. So today, show you refused depend on getting noticed by others and dump your camera/ phone (unless perhaps you’ve got a text, chat… but no selfie!). Feel  whole and special with and without them. Remember some folks have landed six feet below many thanks to their quest for an “impressive selfie”. take a breather! Happy No Selfie Day Everyone!

That’s it on today in history.
