Today we look at notable happenings on this day May 15;
2006 – Iraq : Saddam Hussein. A judge formally charges Saddam Hussein with crimes against humanity, Saddam Hussein refuses to enter a plea insisting he was still Iraq’s president and the judge had no jurisdiction to charge him. In November he was found guilty of crimes against humanity and sentenced to death by hanging, he was hanged on December 30th.
2012 – Switzerland Royal Diamond – The Beau Sancy, one of the world’s most famous and oldest diamonds, sold For $9.7 Million.
1928 – Walt Disney character Mickey Mouse premieres in his first cartoon, “Plane Crazy”.
International Day of Families – They might drive you nuts, test your non existent patience and deprive you of basking in the luxury of “me” time, but hey, they love you silly and truth be told, you can’t do without them!
