5 Steps To Getting Rid Of Wedding Planning Anxiety

Titilayo Ilori

Planning a wedding requires a lot of patience and hard work. That is why most people hire a wedding planner to get the load off their shoulders.

In case you want to plan your D- day yourself, these tips below will guide you on how to deal with wedding planning anxiety.

1.  Start planning ahead

Planning for an event earlier helps to minimise the risk of developing high blood pressure. Rushing to plan a wedding might end up becoming a mess because there are so many things to be done.

Make a list of important things you will need and assign reliable friends and family members to help you out, while you do a follow-up. Planning it ahead of time will give you enough time to think and enough time to rest before the D-Day.

2. Don't compare your wedding to others

Comparing your wedding to someone else's wedding will put lots of pressure on you. Taking a peep into some weddings you see on social media is normal, but doing all you can to make your wedding look exactly like what you see on social media is not good for your health.

You can steal one or two ideas, but it is advisable to do your own thing, as not everything you see on social media is real.

3. Don't stress yourself

The reason most women are always stressed before their wedding is because they make things difficult for themselves.

There is no way you can handle the whole planning yourself. The pressure will be too much on you. You need people to help you out.

4. Surround yourself with positive people

Planning a wedding can be overwhelming. You need people who will allow you to think straight, not people who will fill your head with negative thoughts.

Stay away from family members and friends that will stress you. During this period, you need stress free people.

5. Enjoy your day

Your D-Day may not appear the way you want it to, even after doing all you can, trusting a family member with the planning or hiring the most expensive wedding planner to take care of the event.

That does not mean you should wear a long face. Who says a wedding has to be perfect? Nobody is expecting a perfect wedding and you don't owe anybody an explanation. Enjoy your day! Remember, it can't be done twice.
