Knee joint is the connecting joint between your thigh and leg. Pains can occur in the knee joint due to overuse, exercise and illness. It could be a temporary pain or a reoccuring pain caused by an injury or common joint illness.
There is never a single cause when it comes to knee joint pains. It could be as a result of a past injury or the following; Osteoarthritis, tendintis, rheumatoid arthritis, torn ligament or a bone tumor.
There are over the counter medications for knee pain, however, here are also some natural remedies one can use to cure or reduce the pain.
1. Apple Cider Vinegar
It helps combat knee pain. It contains acetic acid that exhibits anti-inflammatory properties which help reduce the pain and swellinh in the affected knee.
Consume orally or apply directly to the affected area.
Ginger also contains powerful anti- inflammatory properties. Ginger can help with people suffering from osteoarthritis. It contains analgesic properties and this can help with loss cartilage which appears to be the major cause of osteoarthritis.
Turmeric contains a compound named `curcumin’ which can help alleviate the symptoms of joint pain and inflammation.
Make a paste of a tablespoon of turmeric and hot milk, apply to the area. Do this at least twice daily.
4. Cayenne Pepper
Cayenne pepper is an excellent remedy for knee joint pain. It contains ‘capsaicin’ which acts as a pain reliever due to it’s analgesic properties.
This is no news about the anti- inflammatory properties present in lemon. This citrus fruit can help reduce the inflammation caused by the joint pain. It can reduce pain and swelling.
Extract the juice and add a tablespoon of sesame oil. Apply and leave for 30 minutes before washing off.
6. Olive Oil
Olive oil contains polyphenols like tyrosol and Oleocanthal properties that work in treating knee pain.
Moisturize your knee with it and wash off after 30 minutes if you can’t stand the stickiness.
