Self-confidence is a state of being certain of something and going ahead with it.
It means you are secure in yourself, your judgement and your abilities, and you do not have any form of self-doubt. It's very important to be self-confident if you want to be taken seriously in any situation you find yourself; in school, your religious places, work and even at home.
No one wants to give a project to someone who is not proud of him/herself. Nobody came to Earth with zero confidence, it drops as we grow especially after going through a number of life challenges.
Self-confidence is something you can build.
A business, project, work or relationship without self-confidence is nothing.
Here are a few tips to help develop or build your self-confidence level:
1. Affirm Yourself
Affirmations are positive and uplifting things we say to ourselves. You can not hate how you look and expect someone else to like how you look. Even when they tell you that you look good, you are sceptical about it.
Tell yourself you look good regularly and it wouldn't feel weird when people give you compliments.
2. Surround Yourself With Positive People
You might need to discard people who constantly tell you that you can't. It will continue to destroy the tiny bit of confidence left in you. Surround yourself with people chasing the same goal as you. Mix with people of great minds.
3. Challenge Yourself Everyday
Try something that seems scary every day to challenge your innermost ideas. Try your best to succeed, try again if you fail and don't stop trying till you get it.
4. Criticise Yourself
Sometimes criticism is worth it. It can make you do better. At the end of the day, ask yourself if you did something important that day. If you did, give points to yourself and if you didn't, be ready to criticize yourself. It will make you want to do more the next day.
5. Self Care
It is hard to feel good about yourself when you feel sick. Make time to give yourself a nice treat. Go to a spa and get a good massage, pedicure, and manicure.
You can't look good and still feel less. Self-confidence depends a lot on good health, social health, and emotional health.
6. Equality Mentality
Have the belief that you deserve every good thing on Earth. Stop saying you don't deserve compliments or you don't deserve a great lover or a wonderful boss. Yes, you do!
