5 Things You Should Never Say To Your Partner

If you want to keep your relationship there are certain things you should never say to your partner.

Keeping a relationship is hard enough without triggering armageddon with some words.

Forget the picture-perfect captions and poses on the gram for a minute, being in a relationship is hard work.

Whether you just started dating or you have tied the knot for years, there are things you say that can trigger the roaring lion in your boo.

Here are a few of them:

1. How Much Do You Make?

It might sound like a basic question, one born out of curiosity and might even be asked with all the innocence you might find in a newborn, but unless you are getting married and intend to split the bills with your future spouse this question strikes the wrong nerve every time.

Simply put, what your partner earns is none of your business except if your partner makes it yours.

2. My Ex used to...

Comparing your partner with your ex is always a TERRIBLE IDEA! Do not do it!

Your ex used to get you gifts every 3rd Saturday of the month because you met on that day and you liked it. Instead of telling your current partner you would really like it if you receive flowers once a month you bring up your ex and how you received gifts from them.

The last thing you want to do is hurt your partner’s self esteem. Communicate without bringing up your ex as much as possible. They are in the past for a reason.

3. “Is That So? What About You?”

When you are being criticised, it is tempting to be on the defensive and lash back with your partner's flaws, whether or not they have to do with your current discussion.

While this might feel good at the moment, it will not help you and your partner work through any relationship problems you are dealing with.

4. I Cheated On You

This is obviously a no-brainer. No one likes to be cheated on! There will never be enough justification for cheating.

If you do not want to rock your relationship’s boat, do not cheat so you will not have to confess. This truth will only set you free from your priced relationship.

5. There Is Something About Your Family...

It is never a good idea to talk negatively about any one’s family, not to talk about your partner’s family members.

This applies whether you are in the dating phase or married.

Whether your partner complains about their family, calls them horrible name, never talk smack about their family, especially their mothers! It will definitely come back to haunt you.

You should, of course, always be able to speak your mind around and with your partner, but to ensure their feelings are not hurt on purpose avoid saying these things.
