9 lives end Fulani, Alago ceasefire agreement

Barely 24 hours after a ceasefire agreement was reached between tribal leaders in Nasarawa on Wednesday, the deal was however truncated following the death of nine fighters belonging to Eggon tribe in Ashinge.

The ceasefire meeting held at a LGA primary school in Gwandara with tribal leaders from Eggon Gwandara and Kambar, Alago and Fulani who all participated in a two kilometre peace walk down to Total Filling Station on Jos Road.

It wasn’t long before the Ombatse militia tribe in Ashinge decided to strike back by staging a fight with residents of Ashinge, a Fulani and Gwandara settlement in Lafia.

According to eyewitness report, gunfire rented the whole area on Tuesday night as the militia visited Ashinge.
