Bird Strike disrupts Arik Air flight to Yola


Passengers on board Arik Air flight W3 408 enroute Abuja to Yola were made to return to the Abuja airport Saturday afternoon, following a bird strike that affected the aircraft’s wind shield.

A statement from spokesman for the carrier, Banji Ola stated that the bird strike affected the aircraft’s wind shield and the Captain had to return to Abuja for safety reasons, a top aviation correspondent Wole Sadare reported via his blogspot,

“Safety of guests come first at Arik Air and the airline will not compromise safety. The airline apologise for whatever inconvenience the air return may have have caused its esteemed guests”.

Ola said alternative arrangement was made to fly the affected passengers to their destination with another aircraft.
