The Founder and Executive Director of the organisation, Mr Philip Azubuike, made this call in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Wednesday in Asaba.

He called on all stakeholders to contribute to the success of the elections by ensuring peace, irrespective of tribal differences.

Azubuike noted that apart from the security agencies that were expected to ensure peace and security, every Nigerian should also ensure a peaceful conduct of the elections.

He lauded the security agencies for their roles in the past elections and advised Nigerians to shun all forms of violence during and after the elections.

Azubuike stressed the need for Nigerians, especially youths, to continue to sustain the peace and unity of the country, adding that this would go a long way in fostering the unity of the country.

He also advised the youth to avoid being used by greedy politicians, who would never sacrifice their children for any election.

“I must advise youths not to allow any greedy politician to use them for any form of violence, because these same politicians will never allow their children to be used for violence,’’ he said.

Azubuike enjoined politicians to imbibe the spirit of sportsmanship by accepting whatever will come their way at the end of the elections.

“As politicians, we must do it right this time around, let us show the world that Nigeria can conduct peaceful and credible elections.

“This will help to strengthen our democracy, as well as portray the country in good light to the outside world,’’ he said. (NAN)
