The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Jigawa Command, said on Wednesday that it had arrested a 23-year-old man over attempted murder of one Kabiru Jos.
The state Commandant of the corps, Mr Muhammad Gidado, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Dutse that the suspect, Kabiru Saidu, was arrested on Tuesday in Kiyawa Local Government Area.
Gidado said Saidu, a resident of Gudduba village, stabbed Jos with a knife during a disagreement over a girlfriend at Lagujiji village, also in Kiyawa Local Government Area.
“The suspect purportedly stabbed the victim with knife as a result of which he sustained serious injury,” he said.
The commandant said the victim was taken to Dutse General Hospital for medical attention and later referred to Rasheed Shekoni Specialist Hospital due to the degree of the injury he sustained.
Gidado said investigation into the incident had commenced, after which the suspect would be taken to court. (NAN)
