The local government elections held earlier today at various polling centres in Lagos State. While some centres remained deserted for the most part of the day, others had people eagerly waiting on long queues to cast their votes, in spite of the heavy downpour of rain.
Polling centres at Alagbado, of the Agbado Oke/Odo LGA, were mostly filled with voters. People could be seen patiently waiting for the accreditation process to begin long before the INEC officials arrived at various polling centres in this area. The officials, in turn, wasted no time in starting the accreditation process as soon as they arrived and voting commenced in earnest.
There was no violence recorded here, as Alagbado residents cast their votes peacefully. The movement restriction between 7 am and 3 pm also left streets around this area deserted and some young children were seen playing football on the Lagos/Abeokuta expressway, Alagbado, even as the elections progressed.
