Coordinator of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Presidential Campaign Organisation in Anambra, Chief Okey Ezenwa, said the party would ensure victory for President Goodluck Jonathan on Feb. 14 election.
Ezenwa gave the assurance at the inauguration of the 21 local councils and state committees of the Presidential Campaign Organisation in Awka on Wednesday.
“We may have appeared to have been slow in inaugurating the committee but it was because we wanted to do it properly and to accommodate the diverse interests in the state politics.
“We do not have any problem of the president winning this election in the state but we must fulfil our pledge that we will give him 98 per cent of the votes in the state.
“That is our task and essence of the inauguration today,” the Coordinator said.
Ezenwa charged the committee members, totalling more than 256 persons to sensitise voters on collection of their permanent voter cards as well as on the need to vote Jonathan and other PDP candidates.
While recalling that the PDP won two of the three senatorial seats and seven House of Representatives out of 11 in the last general elections, Ezenwa noted that the party would improve on the feat this time. (NAN)
