Some political parties have vowed to resist any attempt to remove the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof. Attahiru Jega, reports Punch.
The parties, under the aegis of the Coalition of Progressive Political Parties, said they would frustrate any attempt to stop Jega from conducting the elections.
The parties said if Jega was removed, it will show that the postponement of the elections was done and engineered by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for ulterior motives.
The parties noted that Jega’s removal would affect the credibility of the elections.
The parties are the Peoples Democratic Movement (PDM); African Peoples Alliance (APA); Kowa Party; Social Democratic Party (SDP); African Democratic Congress (ADC); Hope Democratic Party (HDP)
Others are Democratic Peoples Party (DPP); United Progressives Party ( UPP); Accord Party (AP), Unity Party of Nigeria (UPN): and Independent Democrat (ID).
