Nigeria will consider shutting some of its foreign embassies to cut costs, President Muhammadu Buhari’s office has said in a statement.
There was no point in keeping missions “with dilapidated facilities and demoralized staff”, the statement quoted Mr Buhari as telling foreign ministry officials.
“Let’s keep only what we can manage. We can’t afford much for now. There’s no point in pretending,” Mr Buhari said.
