Suspected Boko Haram Gunmen Kill Pastor, Wife in Bauchi


Reports out of Bauchi State said suspected Boko Haram gunmen killed a pastor and his wife in the northeastern state while the couple was returning from church service on Sunday evening.

The victims have reportedly been identified as Obi Williams and Ebere Williams.

The deceased who reports say hailed from Mbaitoli Local Government Area of Imo State and his wife, an indigene of Afikpo Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, reportedly had four children.

The Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Bauchi command, Haruna Mohammed who confirmed the incident, said the gunmen attacked the couple at Bayan Gari area in the state capital at about 7:45 pm on the said day.

He said ammunition of 7.62 mm was recovered at the scene of the crime.

He said the suspects took a bag from Ebere containing undisclosed amount of money being savings collected from her customers that day as contributions and fled after shooting the couple.
