Former Minister of Interior, Comrade Abba Moro, has reportedly been questioned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, the EFCC, over the 2014 recruitment disaster.
According to sources within the anti-corruption watchdog’s headquarters, Moro was questioned on Monday morning over the number of registered applicants in the fated recruitment exercise that took place at the National Stadium. At least 16 people were said to have perished when a stampede occurred midway into the exercise.
About 6.5M applicants were reported to have participated in the exercise and at least 700,000 of them allegedly paid N1,000 to access the online portal of the service for registration.
It is, however, unclear under what condition he was released by the EFCC following the lengthy questioning as at the time of filling this report.
