It was remarkable moment of shock, awe today as one of the suspects arraigned by the police over the October 2 bombing of Abuja suburbs of Kuje and Nyanya pleaded guilty in court.
Abdulwalid Nasiru, age unknown, reportedly told the court that he understands the consequences of his statement after being repeatedly prodded by the judge. He also admitted that he had Improvised Explosive Devices with him shortly before he was apprehended on October 6.
Nasiru is one of five suspects authorities arraigned for the devastating attacks that left at least 21 people dead on the second day of the Independence Day.
Others suspects arraigned alongside Nasiru are: Abdulazeez Muhazab, Ishaka Salihu and Mohammed Jimoh however pleaded not guilty to the rest of the charges.
Justice Abdukadir Abdulkafarati ordered the accused persons to be moved from police custody to prison.
