Former Head of State, General Yakubu Gowon, does not believe that the Boko Haram insugency will end by December despite Federal Government’s orders
While he was visiting Governor Dave Umahi in Ebonyi State on a Roll Back malaria and four other tropical disease campaign, the Team Leader of Advocacy Group, Roll Back Malaria, said it was sad that young innocent girls were used for suicide attacks by the terrorist group and noted that although there are possibilities of ending the insurgency before the December 2015 deadline nobody can guarantee it.
His words, “I can tell you this, nobody can really talk about when any particular operation is going to end. And as a former Commander-in-Chief, I am certain of this. Yes, you can say, you target a particular time, but it may finish before that time or it may go slightly beyond. To end it, that to me, is the most important thing.”
