Human rights activist turned politician, Senator Shehu Sanni, has accused former President Goodluck Jonathan of using pro-Biafra agitators to frustrate the government of his successor, President Muhammadu Buhari.
Sani, who represents Kaduna South Senatorial District at the upper chamber of the National Assembly, said operatives of the Movement for the Actualisation of Sovereign State of Biafra, MASSOB, are Jonathan’s foot soldiers who want to destabilise Nigeria.
Speaking further, Sani reportedly said the activists are still largely miffed that Jonathan lost the presidential election earlier this year, adding that their protests have no reflection on the realities of an average Igbo man.
“The Igbo have made tremendous progress since after the civil war. They have recorded successes as businessmen, as entrepreneurs, as academics and as politicians.
“As long as we will realise the change agenda, entrench good governance and run an all-inclusive government, the Biafran agitation will naturally fizzle out.
“Nigerians must be patient enough with the President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration,” the senator reportedly said.
