Don’t Be Complacent: Obasa Boosts Eaglets’ Morale Ahead of Critical Match

Happenings

Following the victory of the Golden Eaglets in the semi-final match against Mexico, the lawmaker representing Lagos’ Ojo Federal Constituency, Tajudeen Obasa, has charged the Golden Eaglets not to be carried away by their form and victory in recent matches.

Honourable Obasa, an avid supporter of the national team, gave this encouragement while also praising members of the national team for their resilience which aided in their triumph over the Mexicans despite their poor showing in the first twenty minutes of the game.

In a statement released by his media office on Saturday, the lawmaker however urged the leadership of the Nigeria Football Federation headed by Amaju Pinnick to leave no stone unturned in spurring the vigorous youngsters to victory.

“Since the commencement of the competition in 1985, Nigeria has won the tournament in four different countries. This is an opportunity for them to set a new record by being the first Nigerian U-17 team to win a trophy outside Asia.

“The Nigeria Football Federation and the technical crew led by Emmanuel Amuneke should be aware that Nigerians won’t accept anything lesser than Gold.”

The Golden Eaglets will line up against their Malian counterparts for the final of the 16th Edition on Sunday.
