Vampire’s Death; IGP promotes officers who killed notorious criminal

The Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, has approved the promotion and commendation of officers who killed notorious kidnapper, Henry Chubueze, popularly known as Vampire.

The recently promoted got the Commendation for Courage Medal.

The team involved in the operation, the Inspector General of Police Intelligence Response Team, is headed by recently-promoted Assistant Commissioner of Police, Abba Kyari.

Meanwhile, one of the men involved in the operation, Sergeant Innocent Augustine, is still on admission.

Augustine was said to have been hit by multiple bullets during the operation.

He is, however, responding to treatment.

Vampire had been freed by his gang members in the premises of the Imo State High Court in Owerri. The IGP then ordered the operation against the criminals.

After several days of trailing, the IRT had an encounter with Vampire and his team, during which he was killed alongside six members of the gang.

One of the officers, Muhammad Mammadi Maisarauta, who  got promoted shared the news:

“The Galant Officers and Men of The IGP Intelligence Response Team IRT Who Participated in the Operations That led to the Death of the Most Deadly/Notorious Kidnapper in Nigeria, Henry Chibueze Aka Vampire in Rivers State, Arrest of 6 of his gang members and recovered Several AK47 Rifles/Ammunitions, have been Promoted by IGP Ibrahim Idris to their Next Rank. Morale of the Personnel is Seriously Boosted by this Good Gesture.
Those who Got Promoted Recently (including my humble self) will be given IGP Commendation For Courage Medal.
SGT Innocent Augustine who is admitted in the Hospital for receiving Multiple Bullet wounds is responding to treatment Very Well and he is equally Promoted.
I am very very Happy that my Gallant men have been Promoted by the Best IGP ever”.
