Godwin Obua, former chief security officer to Ex-President, Goodluck Jonathan is dead.
Obua passed away at the National Hospital, Abuja after suffering a ‘massive heart attack’ late on Thursday, April 13, 2017.
He was an operative of the secret police, the State Security Services, until 2015 when the Buhari administration came into power. He was arrested and detained by the secret police two months after without access to his family, lawyer or doctor.
It can be recalled that his lawyer alerted Nigerians to his health condition of diabetes and hypertension.
Obua embarked on hunger strike in protest and went into coma, prompting rumours of his death in detention. His health complications led to him being flown to South Africa for treatment.
He is survived by two wives and many children.
May his soul rest in peace.
