Contrary to reports that Adeleke died from an overdose of painkillers, family of Senator Isiaka Adeleke has said the cause of the former Osun State governor’s death is not known yet, even by the pathologists.
Addressing a press conference at the Ede residence of the deceased, his younger brother, Deji Adeleke, said the family was told that the report of the autopsy would be ready in one or two weeks.
Deji urge the public to disregard claims in the social media about the cause of the politician’s passing.
He urged his late brother’s supporters to be calm and allow the family mourn him in peace, saying Adeleke was known for peace and not violence.
Meanwhile, the Osun State branch of the Nigeria Medical Association described as untrue the arrest of a doctor, who some aides to Adeleke claimed treated him before his death.
“We wish to that no doctor was involved, implicated nor arrested as being purported in some media.”
