If the latest information is anything to go by, then, the embattled Lagos governor, Akinwunmi Ambode has been offered a big federal job to end his second term ambition.  A close  source to the Presidency confirmed this to  Happenings Magazine.
The proposition was reportedly made during a high-powered meeting between All Progressive Congress’ (APC) leaders where the national leader, Bola Tinubu, vowed not to back him for another term.
Allegations revealed that Tinubu and several party elders in the state are angered by actions considered harmful taken by the Governor which harmed their political interests.
“He (Ambode) may stay put in APC. The federal job he was promised is a big one. Besides there are no guarantees that he will win if he joins another party,” one of the sources reported.

The endorsement of one-time Commissioner for Establishments, Training and Pensions, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, by party leaders has further dimmed the governor’s chances of picking the governorship ticket.
It is also worth noting that the Lagos APC has adopted direct primaries in which party members, rather than delegates, would decide the party’s flag bearer.
Sanwo-Olu publicly declared his intention to contest the Lagos gubernatorial seat at a rally on Sunday and has been talking tough, even as efforts by Ambode and his supporters to placate Tinubu have reportedly failed.
