All is set for the presidential inauguration in Abuja tomorrow, as the FCT Police Command has announced a diversion of traffic on some major roads leading to Eagle Square.
In preparation for the presidential inauguration, the Federal Capital Territory Police Command on Tuesday disclosed that there would be diversion of traffic on some major roads leading to the Eagle Square, the venue of the Presidential inauguration ceremony scheduled to hold on Wednesday.
The affected roads, according to the command, include Nitel Junction by Ahmadu Bello Way, Aso Drive, FCDA by Finance Headquarters, Bayelsa House Junction and Kur Mohammed by Benue House Plaza.
Other roads are Goodluck Ebele Jonathan Expressway, NNPC Tower, Federal Secretariat Phase 111 under bridge, behind Foreign Affairs.
Usman Umar, the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of operation, while addressing the media, said the road diversion was part of security measures to ensure a hitch free event, adding that the command would work in collaboration with other security apparatus.
He, however, pleaded with the residents for the inconveniences the traffic diversion might cause the commuters plying the routes.
