President Muhammadu Buhari, on Monday, arrived Abuja after attending the 12th Extraordinary Summit of the African Union in Niamey, Niger Republic.

The Nigerian Air Force One aircraft which conveyed the president and his entourage to the summit landed around 1: 25 pm at the presidential wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.

The President, while in Niger, signed the African Continental Free Trade Area agreement, making Nigeria the 53rd country on the continent.

The agreement was used to open this year’s summit, launching the operational phase of the project.

Buhari, after sealing the deal, said that with the growing population of Nigeria and the infrastructure deficit, no amount is too much to dedicate to revamping the country.

‘‘We need all the support we can get on infrastructure because the oil will not last forever,’’ Buhari said.
