Senator Elisha Abbo, who has been in and out of police custody for assaulting a woman, has been arraigned before the Zuba Magistrates’ Court, Abuja.

Although the number of counts he will be charged with is currently unknown, it is expected that the lawmaker will be arraigned on one.

Abbo was released on bail after being arrested for assaulting a nursing mother who interfered in an argument between the senator and the owner of an adult toy store in Abuja. It was then reported that criminal charges will be filed against him at the resumption of investigations.

The information of his arraignment was confirmed by Bala Ciroma, the Commissioner of Police, Federal Capital Territory Police Command.

The police chief made this known thus: “Police officers have taken him to the Zuba Magistrates’ court for arraignment.”

The police established a prima facie case against Senator Abbo after gathering evidence against him from the viral video that recorded the assault.

Reports suggest that the evidences against Elisha Abbo were not only inferred from the video. Proof that confirmed the incident was also acquired from the public speech and press statement granted by the lawmaker shortly before his arrest and this was presented before the court.
