Tanko Muhammad Becomes Chief Justice of Nigeria
The acting Chief Justice of Nigeria, Tanko Muhammad on Wednesday became substantive Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN) after the confirmation of the senate.
Leading to the confirmation, Tanko had earlier on Wednesday arrived the red chamber and had a close door meeting with the Senate President, Ahmad Lawan.
Recall that Tanko Muhammadu had earlier this year become acting CJN after the inglorious exit of former CJN, Justice Walter Onnoghen who was suspended from office and later retired over corrupt practices.
The National Assembly has granted the request of President Muhammadu by the confirmation of Tanko Muhammad as new CJN.
