Five Bandits Killed By Nigerian Soldiers, Four Arrested In Kaduna

On Sunday Morning, Col. Ezindu Idimah, the Deputy Director, Army Public Relations in 1 Division of the Nigerian Army has disclosed to the press in Kaduna that the troops of 1 Division Nigerian Army carried out two massive operations in Igabi and Chikun Local Government Areas (LGAs) of Kaduna State, killing five bandits and arresting four in total.

"During the operation, two bandits were neutralised and one was apprehended, others evidently escaped with gunshot wounds.

"Troops also rescued two kidnapped victims, Mallam Yakubu Hamidu and Alhaji Isa Saidu, from the bandits’ den around Makarfi Farm junction in Igabi LGAs on July 25.

“Two Motorcycles belonging to the criminals were also destroyed during an exchange of fire,” Col. Idimah announced

Col. Idimah narrated that the first operation, tagged "Operation Harbin Kunama", was carried out in a bandit's camp located in Dagu village in Igabi Local Government on July 24, following a massive tip off to the military.

On July 25, during the second operation, tagged "Operation Thunder Strike", army troops assigned to Kubuso Kuno in Chikun Local Government Area raided a bandit hideout, killing three and arresting three.

Col. Idimah further listed the items recovered from the bandits: one Dane gun, one AK 47 rifle, 28 rounds of special ammunition, two motorcycles, one camouflage uniform, a Tecno phone with an Airtel sim and a single barrel rifle.
